Saxe Prize to help support three students

Three Harvard students are among the 13 winners of this year's 2004 J.W. Saxe Memorial Prize for Public Service. The $1,500 prize is awarded annually to help enable college students to partake in public service internships or no-pay/low-paying jobs during the summer.

This year's winners include Harvard College seniors Constantin Crachilov and Dov Fox, and Harvard Graduate School of Education student Benjamin Piper '08.

Crachilov will work with a grassroots Kenyan community development organization in the rural village of Kabula; Fox is taking a judicial internship with the U.S. Supreme Court and hopes to expand a civics program he co-directed in Boston's public schools to Washington's school system; and Piper will work with Beza Outreach, a center carrying out a variety of educational programs in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
