In brief

Directory artwork sought

The Harvard Directory Project seeks artwork to be considered for the front cover of the 2004-05 Faculty & Staff Telephone Directory. Entrants must be faculty or staff currently on the Harvard payroll.

All types of media will be considered, but the work should represent the Harvard environment or experience. For consideration, submit entries (slide, photograph, or digital image only) to the Harvard Directory Project, 1230 Soldiers Field Road, by June 1.

The selected artist will be acknowledged in the directory, and will receive a $300 honorarium, as well as a framed copy of the cover.

For official rules and entry form, visit http://www.uis.harvard.edu/telecom/harvard_directory/contest_rules.php.

Contact telephone_directory@harvard.edu for more information.

Pops rehearsals to begin in June

Wind, brass, and percussion musicians interested in playing with the Harvard Summer Pops Band are invited to attend rehearsals Wednesday evenings (from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m.) from June 30 to Aug. 4 in Lowell Hall. Directed by Tom Everett, the band - which features players from Harvard and the Greater Boston area - will hold concerts Aug. 4 at 4 p.m. in Harvard Yard and Aug. 8 at 3 p.m. at the Hatch Shell. No auditions are required, and it is recommended that all players bring a folding music stand to rehearsals. For more information, call (617) 496-BAND.
