Lightweight crew captures Eastern Sprints

Radcliffe lightweight crew captured its first Eastern Sprints crown since 1997 with a time of 6:38.6 in the grand finals Sunday afternoon (May 9) in Camden, N.J. The top-ranked Black and White finished ahead of closest pursuer Wisconsin (6:41.47) by nearly a length, and four seconds better than eastern rival Princeton (6:42.10). The win marks Radcliffe's 10th Eastern Sprints title in program history.

Tennis to host NCAA regional tourney

The Ivy champion Harvard men and women's tennis teams will host regional NCCA tournament action this weekend (May 14-16). Ranked No. 21 in the country, the Crimson men (21-6, 7-0 Ivy) will make their fourth consecutive NCAA appearance on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Quinnipiac. The winner will advance to the regional final against either Tulane or Notre Dame on Sunday. Meanwhile, the women (14-9, 7-0 Ivy) will open play on Friday at 11 a.m. opposite Ohio State, with the victor taking on either BU or Kentucky on Saturday.

The winner of the four-team regional will go on to the Sweet 16 next week at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla., (for the men) and at the University of Georgia in Athens (for the women).
