Defender Belitsos earns league accolades

For her recent efforts against the attack, sophomore midfielder Elaine Belitsos of the Harvard women's lacrosse team was named the Ivy League's Defensive Player of the Week on April 13. Belitsos tallied 10 draw controls and 11 ground balls (and three goals) in two outings last week, as the Crimson posted a 1-1 record, including an 11-10 OT win against BU on April 7. Belitsos leads the team in ground balls (35), and draw controls (29), and is second in forced turnovers (17).

Basketball camp sign-up under way

The Crimson Hoop Camp for boys and girls in grades 3 through 10 is offering two sessions this summer: Aug. 9-12 and Aug. 16-19. Directed by Harvard assistant basketball coaches Bill Holden and Lamar Reddicks, the camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $200 and all campers will receive a Crimson basketball and T-shirt. Lax knocks off Bears, 12-10

A visiting Harvard men's lacrosse team shocked 10th-ranked Brown, 12-10, this past Tuesday night (April 13) to improve to 5-4 (1-2 Ivy). Freshman midfielder Brian Mahler tallied a second-half hat trick to lead the Crimson surge.
