Faculty Council notes for March 24

At its 10th meeting of the year (March 24) the Faculty Council discussed the Report of the Harvard University Committee on Calendar Reform with the chair of the committee, Professor Sidney Verba (government).

In addition, the council reviewed the current status of the Curricular Review with Deans Kirby (history), Gross (mathematics), and Wolcowitz (economics).

Finally, the council received the 2004 Affirmative Action Plan for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Dean Rebecca Wassarman (Academic Affairs) was present for the discussion.

Faculty Council nomination material has been distributed to the voting members of the faculty. Nomination ballots must reach the Office of the Secretary no later than 5 p.m on Friday, April 9.

The council next meets on April 14. The preliminary agenda deadline for the April 20 Faculty Meeting is 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 5.
