Faculty Council notice for Oct. 29
At the Faculty Council's third meeting of the year, the council discussed pending changes in the faculty's appointment procedures with Associate Dean Cynthia Friend (FAS and chemistry) and Associate Dean Vincent Tompkins (academic affairs). Friend is currently chairing a faculty committee on the appointments process.
The council also discussed a proposed change in the name of the Faculty's Standing Committee on Women's Studies with Professors Afsaneh Najmabadi (history and women's studies) and Bradley Epps (Romance languages). Najmabadi is chair of the standing committee.
In addition, the council reviewed the docket for the Nov. 18 Faculty Meeting.
The council will next meet on Nov. 26. The preliminary agenda deadline for the November Faculty Meeting is 9:30 a.m. on Monday (Nov. 3).
