New AIDS vaccine tested in U.S. and Africa
Raphael Dolin is part of a Medical School/School of Public Health research group conducting trials of a new AIDS vaccine in the U.S. and
Botswana. "This vaccine approach is very promising," says Dolin, Maxwell Finland Professor of Medicine and principal investigator of the Harvard HIV Vaccine Unit. "The vaccine is relatively easy to make and very stable. If it proves safe and gives us a good immune response, we can proceed to test its efficacy in large numbers of people, including those who are at high risk of HIV infection."
