Snook's 'Friendly Fire' wins AOM award
Harvard Business School Associate Professor Scott A. Snook has received the Academy of Management's (AOM) George R. Terry Award for his book "Friendly Fire" (Princeton University Press, 2000), a study of the accidental downing of U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopters over Northern Iraq in 1994. This honor is granted annually to the book published during the past two years that is judged to have made the most outstanding contribution to the advancement of management knowledge.
Mao awarded cancer research fellowship
The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation has awarded Harvard researcher Junhao Mao one of its 20 postdoctoral fellowships for Mao's research: "Identification of Sonic Hedgehog target genes in regulation of mammalian limb pattern." Andrew P. McMahon, the Frank B. Baird Jr. Professor of Science, will sponsor the research for the three-year duration of the award.
