Talking civics
Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift was the
keynote speaker at the 2002 Civics Symposium at the Kennedy School of
Government on April 24. Swift answered questions from students such
as eighth-grader Helida Silva, who asked about proposals to abolish
bilingual education programs. The symposium was sponsored by the
Institute of Politics and Phillips Brooks House. (Staff photo by Stephanie Mitchell)
