Learning Innovations Laboratories convenes business leaders

Business leaders in human resources and knowledge management gathered at the Faculty Club Wednesday, March 13 for the quarterly meeting of Learning Innovations Laboratories (LILA) of the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Project Zero. LILA participants discuss organizational change and share "stories from the trenches," said David Perkins, professor of education and facilitator of LILA. "These are not corporate bottom-line people. These are people concerned about the human dimension, about getting people to work together," he said.

At the two-day meeting, leaders from the U.S. Army, Johnson & Johnson, and Boston-based Viant were among the participants who learned about sustaining change from Ernest L. Arbuckle Professor of Business Administration Rosabeth Moss Kanter - and each other. "We learn from one another, that's part of the point," said Perkins, who brings theories on human learning and organizational intelligence to the participants' very candid discussions. "We try to see that everybody teaches."
