Faculty Council notice for Sept. 26
At its second meeting of the year, the Faculty Council met again with Professor P. Kuhn (East Asian Languages and Civilizations). Professor Kuhn continued the discussion he and Professor J. Engell (English and American Literature and Language) initiated at last week's council meeting concerning a possible reaffirmation of the faculty's 1970 Resolution on Rights and Responsibilities.
The council also heard a report from Professor Paul Martin (D.E.A.S. and physics), dean for Research and Information Technology in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, on the new FAS online Disclosure and Attestation Form. All faculties have been asked to institute procedures to assure that academic appointees are aware of policies relating to conflicts of interest and commitment.
The first faculty meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The preliminary docket deadline for that meeting is at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1. The "Rules of Faculty Procedure" and other information about faculty meetings can be found at http//www.fas.harvard.edu/~secfas/.
