The Overseas Program Office has been established at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government to facilitate the administration of international projects at the School.

The Office has primary responsibility for administration and logistics of overseas projects and will work in close collaboration with the research centers and support offices at the Kennedy School. In addition to coordinating international activities on a school-wide basis, the Office is expected to play a key role in management of potential risks inherent in overseas activities.

The Overseas Program Office staff also will help evaluate new international projects and otherwise assist the Faculty Committee on Overseas Projects -- headed by Professor Robert Stavins -- in the project review process.

The Overseas Program Office will absorb several overseas projects from the former Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID). The remaining HIID projects will be distributed between Harvard's Graduate School of Education and Boston University's School of Public Health. The Overseas Program Office will also support any other Kennedy School projects with large overseas components.

The Overseas Program Office staff -- directed by Stewart Uretsky -- is located at 104 Mount Auburn Street in Cambridge.
