Police Charge Man With Possessing Stolen ID Cards
Harvard University Police arrested a 20-year-old California man while investigating unauthorized use of student ID cards at numerous Harvard Yard dormitories. Andre Stuckey, reportedly from Long Beach, Calif., was stopped by Harvard Police just before noon on Oct. 22. Police said they found Stuckey, who is not a Harvard student, to be in possession of five student identification cards. The ID cards, which allow access to building entryways but not individual rooms, were previously reported stolen. Stuckey was charged with five counts of receiving stolen property, one count of receiving a stolen credit card, giving a false name, and trespassing. Stuckey was arraigned on the charges at Third District Court on Oct. 25. Bail was set at $50,000. Stuckey was still in custody on Wednesday; a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Nov. 17. The arrest came after weeks of intelligence gathering by the Criminal Investigation Unit, which provided officers with information on the suspect. The investigation continues regarding possible additional criminal charges. Arresting Officer Anthony Carvello was assisted by Officers Laureen Donahue, Kevin Healy, and George White, along with other officers on detail in the Yard, including security guard Ernest Duarte.
