Provost to hold office hours for students

Provost Harvey Fineberg will hold office hours for students on Friday, Oct. 8, from 4 to 5 p.m. in his Massachusetts Hall office. Meetings are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Harvard Neighbors offers new program guide

Harvard Neighbors offers programs and events designed to bring together people from across the University and to welcome new arrivals.

The 1999-00 program guide features 29 interest groups through which one can explore new skills, ideas, and activities. All interest groups are led by volunteer members of the Harvard community and meet throughout the academic year. Harvard Neighbors also offers large social events.

Some of the new groups this fall are: Week Hiking, a Lunch-time Book Group, Evening Bridge, Computers, the Internet and the Worldwide Web, Needlework Medley, and Evening Yoga.

The program guide is available at Harvard Neighbors, 17 Quincy St., Loeb House, or by calling (617) 495-4313. All programs and events are listed on the Website at http://neighbors.harvard.edu. Harvard Neighbors is a membership organization open to active and retired officers – faculty, administrative, and professional staff – and their spouses.

Distribution of the 1999-00 Directory of Faculty, Professional and Administrative Staff to take place

The 1999-00 Directory of Faculty, Professional and Administrative Staff will be mailed directly to teaching faculty and all administrative and professional staff, as well as all emeriti of the University starting in late November. If you do not fall under any of the above categories and need a copy, please s a written request to: Directory Order, Office of Human Resources, IMS, Holyoke Center 639, Holyoke Center Mail Area H0537, by mail or fax ([617] 495-0767). The following information is required: Name, University ID No., Office Address and Telephone Extension. Requests cannot be accepted without thi s information. To avoid duplicate orders, please do not s in a request if you expect to receive a copy automatically or if you have already submitted an order. Changes of address, name, or title should be directed to the Payroll Office, 359 Holyoke Center. Name, University ID No., and both the old and new address must be provided.

Faculty Club features autumn special

The Harvard Faculty Club is serving locally harvested products such as line-caught tuna and diver shellfish, wild Maine blueberries, beach plums, and wild mushrooms. "A Taste of the Wild" will run through Oct. 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. every evening. Reservations can be made on the Web at http://www.hfc.harvard.edu or call (617) 495-5758.
