Harvard Course in Reading and Study Strategies to be offered

Through readings, films, and classroom exercises, students learn to read more purposively, selectively, and with greater speed and comprehension in the Harvard Course in Reading and Study Strategies. The class meets for three weeks, Monday through Friday, for one hour. Cost: $150. The fall sessions will be held Oct. 12-29, 8-9 a.m. and Oct. 25-Nov. 12, 4-5 p.m. To register, please contact the Bureau of Study Counsel at (617) 495-2581.

President, Provost to hold office hours for students

President Neil L. Rudenstine and Provost Harvey V. Fineberg will hold office hours for students throughout this academic year. Meetings are held from 4 to 5 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis at Massachusetts Hall.

The 1999-00 schedule is as follows: President Rudenstine: Friday, Oct. 1; Tuesday, Nov. 2; Thursday, Dec. 9; Wednesday, Jan. 5; Thursday, Feb. 17; Tuesday, April 4; and Monday, May 1.

Provost Fineberg: Friday, Oct. 8; Wednesday, Nov. 17; Thursday, Dec. 2; Tuesday, Jan. 11; Wednesday, Feb. 2; Friday, March 3; Tuesday, April 18; and Thursday, May 25.

Harvard-Radcliffe Chorus to hold auditions

The Harvard-Radcliffe Chorus is holding auditions for all voice parts on Sunday, Sept. 19, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Paine Music Building, Room 7. Auditions are held on a first-come, first-served basis and take about 10 minutes. No prepared piece is required.

The chorus rehearses on Thursday evenings, 7:30 to 10 p.m., at First Church Cambridge, 11 Garden St., and this season's fall repertoire includes the Fauré Requiem, Op. 48, and his Cantique de Jean Racine, Op. 11.

Biomedical supplies exhibit to take place next week

The 1999 Biomedical Research Equipment and Supplies Exhibit will feature 150 biomedical suppliers as well as VWRSP, Harvard's laboratory supply vendor partner, displaying their latest wares to lab personnel, researchers, and purchasing agents. The exhibit will be held Wednesday, Sept. 22, and Thursday, Sept. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Countway Plaza Courtyard, Harvard Medical School, Longwood Avenue. Admission is free with a University, hospital, or corporate I.D.
