Hanson Receives Teaching Award
Law Professor Jon Hanson has received the Albert M. Sacks-Paul A. Freund Award for Teaching Excellence from the Law School Class of 1999.
Hanson was presented with the award during Harvard Law School Class Day ceremonies on June 9.
"Professor Hanson was given the teaching award by the enthusiastic election of the third-year class because he is deeply committed to teaching, is able to share his brilliance on a variety of legal issues in clear fashion, and is very approachable," said Class Marshall John Cranley. "Moreover, Professor Hanson leaves the impression with his students that he cares not only for their legal development, but for their personal development, too."
The award is given every year to a faculty member by the graduating class to recognize commitment to excellence and demonstrated interest in the quality of the student experience.
Hanson's research interests include torts, products liability, corporate law, insurance law, and consumer information.
He received the B.A. in economics and public policy in 1986 from Rice University and the J.D. in 1990 from Yale Law School.
Hanson was appointed assistant professor in 1992 and professor in 1997.
