Affiliated Ministers Appointed in Memorial Church

Five Affiliated Ministers have been appointed in the Memorial Church to assist the resident clergy in the conduct of services and the pastoral and educational ministries of the Church. Collectively known as "The Chapter" after the collegiate body of clergy in a cathedral, the Affiliated Ministers will serve on an annual and nonstipendary basis.

Appointed to serve in the first Chapter are: the Rev. Dr. Dorothy Austin, priest of Episcopal Church and Co-Master of Lowell House; the Rev. Preston B. Hannibal, school minister of St. Mark's School and adviser to Episcopal Studies in the Divinity School; the Rev. Dr. Claudia Highbaugh, chaplain and associate director of ministerial studies in the Divinity School; the Rev. Diana Walcott Phillips, minister in the United Church of Christ; and the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Randolph, senior associate dean for undergraduate education and student affairs at M.I.T. and pastor of the Brookline Church of Christ. The Affiliates join the Rev. Sarah Birmingham Drummond, assistant dean of freshmen and chaplain for religious education, the Rev. Dr. Wendel W. Meyer, associate minister, and the Rev. Professor Peter J. Gomes, Pusey Minister in the Memorial Church. The appointments take effect July 1, and the Affiliates will be formally inducted into their offices at a service in the fall term. "I am so happy to welcome these colleagues to our work in the Memorial Church.

All of them know and serve Harvard well, and they will add so much to our ministry," said Gomes.
