Robert P. Bergman, director of the Cleveland Museum of Art and a former Harvard faculty member, died May 6. He was 53.

Bergman taught at Harvard from 1976 to 1981. He was an associate professor of fine arts.

Bergman was a nationally recognized spokesman for arts institutions.
