Provost to hold office hours for students
Provost Harvey Fineberg will hold office hours for students in his Massachusetts Hall office on a first-come, first-served basis on Thursday, May 13, from 4 to 5 p.m.

Music Department to present Group for New Music
The Department of Music will present a free concert by the Harvard Group for New Music, Razorblades to Gigabytes, Part 2, on Sunday, May 23, at 8 p.m. at Paine Concert Hall. The concert features Symphonie pour un Homme seul (1949-50) by Pierre Henry and Pierre Schaeffer, with choreography by the Harvard-Radcliffe Dance Company.

Center for Astrophysics to hold program on planets
The Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics will hold a free program on Thursday, May 20, featuring a nontechnical lecture and, weather permitting, telescope observing. Robert Noyes, from the Center for Astrophysics, will present a lecture titled "Planets Orbiting Other Stars."

Observatory Night programs are held in the Phillips Auditorium of the Center for Astrophysics, 60 Garden St., Cambridge. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the program begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free and no reservations are necessary. Seating is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Watchdog Journalism Conference to be held by Nieman Foundation
The Nieman Foundation will be sponsoring the second Watchdog Journalism Conference on Saturday, May 15. The conference will take place at the Kennedy School of Government in the Taubman Building from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The panels will cover local government, national security, photography, nonprofit organizations, and business and economics. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.

Film by John Sayles to be shown, discussed
The John Sayles film, Matewan, will be shown in the Wiener Auditorium, Taubman Building, the Kennedy School of Government, on Tuesday, May 18, at 7 p.m., accompanied by a discussion with James Green, lecturer at the Harvard Trade Union program and a professor of history and labor studies at the University of Massachusetts/Boston. The event is free.
