Museum 'Travel Night' Transports Participants
The Museum of Natural History was the site of an "Evening at the Ends of
the Earth" last Thursday, March 4. Close to 200 people showed up for the
"travel night" open house, which began with a lecture by Peter Alden, a
preeminent naturalist and author. Patty Tang, who is working toward her Ph.D. in
ethnomusicology at Harvard, serenaded the visitors as they arrived at the galleries, playing
the Senegalese sabar drum. The Kuumba brothers also performed in both the Mineralogical
Galleries and the Mammal Hall.
