Faculty Council

The Faculty Council, at its first meeting of the year, agreed to propose Professor Roderick MacFarquhar (Government) as Parliamentarian for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences for l998-99.

The Council discussed with James Miller (Director of Financial Aid) and Marlyn McGrath Lewis (Director of Admissions) changes being made in undergraduate financial aid.

The Council also discussed with Professor Sidney Verba (Director of the University Library), Nancy Cline (Librarian of Harvard College), Dale Flecker (Associate Director for Planning and Systems), and Professor Peter Bol (Vice Chair of the Faculty Library Committee) modifications being made in the Library's online catalogue (Hollis).

Additionally, the Council reviewed its own procedures and sub-committee arrangements. The preliminary docket deadline for the Oct. 20 Faculty Meeting is 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5.
