Radcliffe Appoints Former Press Secretary for Malone as Media Relations Officer

The Radcliffe College Office of Communications announced today that Michael Armini, former press secretary to Massachusetts State Treasurer Joseph D. Malone and Congressman Peter G. Torkildsen, has been appointed to serve as the College's senior media relations officer.

While working for Malone and Torkildsen, Armini gained experience in publicizing public policy initiatives in both the local and national media. Armini's experience includes two years on Capitol Hill as Torkildsen's press secretary during the 104th Congress--one of the busiest congressional sessions in decades.

"We're thrilled to have someone with Michael's expertise on our communications team," said Lyn Chamberlin, Director of the Office of Communications. "His public sector background is a great asset to Radcliffe College as we continue to play a key role in discussing and developing public policy for the next century."

Armini will serve as a spokesperson for the College, in addition to managing Radcliffe's relationship with print and electronic media.

In addition to his background in politics and government, Armini worked as a senior account executive with Schneider & Associates, a public relations firm with offices in Boston and New York. In this position, Armini specialized in corporate media relations for a variety of private-sector clients.

Armini earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts in 1991, and a master's degree in communications from Emerson College in 1993. He is an occasional lecturer at Emerson College on issues ranging from national politics to modern public relations strategies.

Armini resides in Boston with his wife, Jennifer.
