Al-Tuwaijri International Public Service Fellowship Established at KSG

To further its commitment to international public service, the Kennedy School of Government has established the Sheikh Abdulaziz A. Al-Tuwaijri International Public Service Fellowship program. The fellowship is funded by Mohammed A. Al-Tuwaijri in honor of his father and will be open to any international student who demonstrates promise as a public service leader.

ÒMany students from abroad face great financial hurdles in pursuing an advanced education, which makes fellowship support so critical,Ó said Dean Joseph S. Nye Jr. "I envision a cadre of Al-Tuwaijri Fellows assuming prominent public service positions in all corners of the globe, and perhaps helping to create a more effective diplomatic dialogue."

ÒI wanted to provide educational opportunities for students who are particularly dedicated to the promotion of world peace and conflict resolution,Ó said Al-Tuwaijri. ÒI chose to direct my support to the Kennedy School of Government because, through its training of future leaders for an increasingly complex global environment, it is making great contributions in that direction.Ó

Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri is the chairman of Gulfnet, K.S.A., in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is a member of the Council on Executive Outreach at the Kennedy School.

Al-Tuwaijri Fellows must commit to returning to their native countries to pursue a career in public service for at least three years after completing their degree studies at the Kennedy School. Students may apply their fellowship to any of the School's degree programs.
