Provost to hold office hours for students

Provost Harvey Fineberg will hold office hours for students at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, in his Massachusetts Hall office.

Milton Fund monies available to support a range of studies

The William F. Milton Fund makes available research funds for faculty members of the University. The Fund supports studies of a medical, geographical, historical, or scientific nature, which must be either in the interests of promoting the physical and material welfare of the human race, or of investigating and determining the value and importance of a discovery or invention.

Preference is given to new and original projects, especially independent work of recently appointed young faculty members.

The award amount is $12,000 for the period Jan. 1, 1998, to Dec. 31, 1998. The application deadline is Nov. 1. For an application, contact Cheryl Magoveny, Sponsored Programs Administration, Harvard Medical School; 432-2661; cmagoven@warren.med.harvard.edu.

Faculty Club offers special autumn fare

The Faculty Club is offering special autumn dining choices created by executive chef K.C. O'Hara. The menus are prix fixe and the schedule is as follows: "A Taste of the Wild," Oct. 6-24, wild and exotic vegetables, fruit, grains, and game; "A Taste of New England," Oct. 27-Nov. 7, traditional and unique New England fare; and "Beaujolais Nouveau," Nov. 10-21, sumptuous dinners prepared to enhance and complement this year's Beaujolais Nouveau.
