Harvard ranks 4th in Peace Corps numbers

In 36 years of Peace Corps history, Harvard University has produced the fourth most Peace Corps volunteers of all universities and colleges. During that time, 1,996 Harvard alumni have traveled to other countries to improve living conditions through teaching, building, and AIDS education, according to the Peace Corps. Harvard follows the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and the University of Washington.

Artwork available for rent

Original prints by modern and contemporary artists can be rented and used to decorate dormitory rooms, apartments, and offices. Harvard students and officers are eligible. Fees are $20-$40. Artwork can be viewed and rented at the Fogg Art Museum Courtyard from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Sept. 22 through 26. For information, call 495-2393.

UIS Computer Training to be offered

University Information Systems (UIS) is offering hands-on computer training this fall. Many half-day and evening courses are available in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Windows 95. Besides the half-day and evening courses, a full range of other courses is available: wordprocessing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, and Internet classes. Classrooms (PC and Macintosh) are located at 1730 Cambridge St.

Travel Fair to be held in Medical Area next week

All faculty and staff are invited to the Harvard University Travel Fair, to be held from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, at the Inn at Children's on Longwood Avenue.

The fair provides an opportunity to meet the University's preferred vendors who offer discounts and services for the business and leisure travelers of Harvard. About 20 vendors will be represented, including airlines, hotels, and car rental agencies.

The fair's theme is "Viva, Las Vegas!," complete with a casino setting and "travel cash" provided. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served.

Those attending the fair must present a Harvard I.D. or an invitation at the door.
