Accident Claims Lives of Two Undergraduates
A memorial service is being planned for two Harvard College undergraduates who died in a car accident on July 3. Deshaun Hill of Milwaukee, Wis., and Harvard Stephens of Brentwood, Tenn., perished in a crash in Monterey, Calif., according to police reports. Hill was an engineering sciences concentrator, and Stephens was concentrating in computer sciences. Both were members of the Class of 1999, and both lived in Adams House. "We are greatly shocked," said Dean of Students Archie C. Epps. "They had both made substantial contributions to the College and will be greatly missed." Michael Prokopow, former senior tutor in Adams House, described Hill and Stephens as "very dedicated students and also very committed to making Adams House and the College a place where diversity is respected and celebrated. Their lives exemplified how, in a residential setting, one studies and lives and socializes and grows." The date of the memorial service has not yet been set.
