Boylston oratory prize competition to be be held The Boylston Prizes, founded in 1817, are open by competition to all upper-class students in good standing at Harvard and Radcliffe. These prizes are among the oldest in the University and are given "for the delivery of memorized selections from English, Greek, or Latin literature." This year a first prize of $300 and a second prize of $150 will be awarded. A preliminary competition will be held at 4 p.m. in Boylston Auditorium on Thursday, April 10. The finals will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 8 p.m. in Boylston Auditorium. Candidates for the prizes must register in person with four copies of their selection with Shawn DeHart, Warren House, 11 Prescott St., on or before Monday, April 7. Selections are not to exceed five minutes in delivery. Candidates should mark clearly where their selection begins and ends on each of the four copies. Kennedy to speak at Project H.E.A.L.T.H forum Edward M. Kennedy, senior senator from Massachusetts, will be the keynote speaker at the Project H.E.A.L.T.H./IOP Children's Health Forum to be held on Monday, April 7, at 6 p.m., at the ARCO Forum at the Kennedy School of Government. Project H.E.A.L.T.H. is a multidisciplinary community service program that provides Harvard undergraduates with opportunities to understand the interconnectedness of major social ills while working to rectify them. Sophomores Supinda Bunyavianich and Mike Maii, volunteers for the Project, have worked with the Institute of Politics to organize this forum adressing the possibilities of a national plan for universal children's health care coverage. The moderator of the forum, which is titled "Children's Health Care and the National Agenda: Designing a Plan for the 21st Century," will be Executive Dean of the Kennedy School Sheila Burke. Among the speakers will be Theda Skocpol, professor of government and of sociology. Physicians for Human Rights to hold 10th anniversary event Physicians for Human Rights is marking its 10th anniversary with a symposium called "Extending the Reach: Effective Tools for Human Rights" to be held Saturday, April 12, at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston. Several Harvard faculty, including Sofia Gruskin and Howard Hu, both from the School of Public Health, are among the presenters. The event celebrates a decade of health and human rights investigation and advocacy. Participants will be able to attend a variety of plenary sessions and educational workshops, a reception, and a gala dinner and awards ceremony at which PHR will recognize people who have made great contributions to the advancement of health and human rights around the world. Human rights studies conference to take place at Law School The Harvard University Committee on Human Rights Studies will host "Human Rights at Harvard: Interdisciplinary Faculty Perspectives on the Human Rights Movement" at the Law School on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Panel discussions will address the issues of "Universalism and Cultural Relativism: Perspectives on the Human Rights Debate" and "Remembering and Forgetting Gross Violations of Human Rights." The event takes place in Pound Hall, Room 101, 1563 Massachusetts Ave., and is free and open to the public.
