Harvard University Press receives reference publishing award Harvard University Press was named Reference Publisher of the Year for 1996 at the annual Literary Marketplace Awards ceremony, held at the New York Public Library last week. Specific acknowledgment was made of The Harvard Guide to Women's Health, The Harvard Biographical Dictionary of Music, and The Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE), Volume 3. The judging panel is made up of members of the publishing community. Travel Fair to be held March 21 The 1997 Harvard Travel Fair provides an opportunity for faculty and staff to meet the travel vendors who provide discounts to the University community. The fair will be held Friday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Charles Hotel, Cambridge. Participants can win travel prizes, and refreshments will be served. An invitation or faculty or staff ID are required for admission. Asia Law Society sends delegation to Hong Kong, Beijing The Harvard Asia Law Society, a student organization of the Law School, will send a fact-finding delegation of 15 students to Hong Kong and Beijing for a series of meetings with high-level officials through the end of March. The delegation will observe developments in the political and economic systems of both Hong Kong and Beijing, specifically focusing on the prospects for continued rule of law in Hong Kong after July 1 and the growth of a complex legal system in China. The students will meet with key figures in Hong Kong and Beijing, including: Tung Chee Hwa, who will take over from current Gov. Chris Patten as chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on July 1; Andrew Wong, president of Hong Kong Legislative Council, the elected body that will be replaced on July 1 of this year by the Beijing-appointed Provisional Legislature; and Hong Kong Solicitor General Daniel Fung.
