The Faculty Council, at its thirteenth meeting of the year, met with Professor Sidney Verba (Government), chair, and other members of the Core Review Committee, to continue the discussion, initiated two weeks ago, of the Committee's "Working Paper." Also participating in this conversation was the director of the Core Program, Susan W. Lewis.

The Council returned to its earlier review of the Dean's Annual Letter, focusing its discussion on the ratio of junior to senior faculty in departments, and on subventions by the Faculty to institutions and agencies affiliated with the Faculty. Professor Christoph Wolff (Music), Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, presented a recent review of the Faculty's Ph.D. program in Modern Greek. Deans Margot Gill and Garth McCavana were present for this discussion. Finally, the Council reviewed the March Faculty Meeting, and the agenda for the April Faculty Meeting.

The Faculty Council next meets on April 2. The preliminary agenda deadline for the April 8 Faculty Meeting is Monday, March 24.
