President to hold office hours for students

President Neil L. Rudenstine will hold office hours for students in his Massachusetts Hall office on a first-come, first-served basis on Monday, Feb. 10, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Davis Center to award travel grants

The Davis Center for Russian Studies will award a number of travel grants to Harvard graduate students for the purpose of conducting research in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.

Ph.D. candidates and A.M. students in the Program in Regional Studies: Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, are eligible. The award is granted for travel to any of the countries of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe for a mininum of six weeks either during the summer or during the academic year.

Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies offers grants

Summer research travel grants for Harvard students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional school) and Mellon Grants for Harvard graduate students in Latin American history are being offered by the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies.

The deadline for both programs is March 14. For application forms, see the Center, Coolidge Hall, 1737 Cambridge St., Room 602.

Milton Fund to support new projects

The William F. Milton Fund makes research funds available to faculty members of Harvard University for studies of a medical, geographical, historical, or scientific nature, which must be either in the interests of promoting the physical and material welfare of the human race, or of investigating and determining the value and importance of a discovery or invention.

Applicants must be members of the University with voting privileges in their respective faculties and must not have received Milton Fund support during the last five years. Preference is given to new and original projects, especially independent work of recently appointed young faculty members.

A formal application form is required and is available from Sponsored Programs Administration. The application has been extensively revised, so be sure to fill out the proper one.
