Divinity School Invites Applications for Fellowships

The Center for the Study of Values in Public Life at the Divinity School invites applications from scholars and practitioners to be in residence for one semester or one academic year. Fellows will pursue research projects that recognize religious beliefs and practices as elements in the current debate about civil society and the renewal of public life; participate in an interdisciplinary seminar involving senior scholars and practitioners; and convene a student working group around a central issue in their area of expertise.

Stipends vary depending on individual circumstances and ordinarily do not exceed $30,000 for a full-year fellowship (or $15,000 for a semester fellowship). Home institutions are expected to provide additional support, plus all benefits. Deadline date for receipt of applications is Dec. 20, 1996. To receive an application cover sheet, contact The Center for the Study of Values in Public Life, Harvard Divinity School, 45 Francis Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138; telephone: 496-3586; fax: 496-3668; e-mail: cmcintyre@div.harvard.edu.
