Stanley M. Wyman, Radiologist, Dies
Dr. Stanley Moore Wyman, a clinical professor of radiology emeritus at the Medical School and a radiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) for more than 50 years, died of heart failure on July 28. He was 82 and lived in Cambridge. Wyman was born in Cambridge and graduated from Harvard College ('35) and Harvard Medical School ('39). Wyman was a member of the judicial, ethics, and discipline committees of the Massachusetts Medical Society and president of the organization in 1981 and 1982. He was the former president of the American College of Radiology and the Massachusetts Society of Radiology. In 1991, the Stanley Moore Wyman Award was established at MGH to be presented each year to the doctor who "through four years of residency has demonstrated the integrity, compassion, and dedication to excellence as embodied by Dr. Wyman during 50 years of service at Massachusetts General Hospital." Wyman leaves his wife, Evelyn; a son, Stephen of Carlisle; three daughters, Jean Beebe of Wrentham, Martha Bermingham of Chicago, and Barbara Samett of Philadelphia; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in September at the University.
