Women's Basketball on the Air

Friday's first-round NCAA women's basketball game between Harvard and Vanderbilt, in Nashville, will air live on WHRB-FM (95.3) beginning at approximately 9 p.m.

Harvard, which gained an automatic bid to the tournament by winning the Ivy League, is seeded 14th in the Mideast region, while Vanderbilt is seeded third. This is the first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance for the Crimson, which enters the contest with a school-record 13-game winning streak.

The winner of the Harvard-Vanderbilt game will meet the winner of the Oregon-Wisconsin game on Sunday at 7 p.m. That game will be televised live by ESPN 2; if Harvard is involved, it will also air live on WHRB.

Three Harvard women's basketball players recently earned Ivy League honors. Sophomore forward Allison Feaster has been named 1995-96 Player of the Year and is a First Team All-Ivy selection, senior guard Elizabeth Proudfit is a First Team All-Ivy choice, and junior guard Jessica Gelman is a Second Team All-Ivy selection.
